History

Bruce Downs, President, has worked locally in the glass business for over 25 years. In April of 1986 Bruce started CB (Custom Built) Showers and introduced a new concept in bath enclosures to the SF Peninsula - heavy glass Frameless enclosures which were enjoying popularity in Europe at the time. Bruce's wife Terri, was involved from the beginning on a part time basis, and joined the company full time in 1992 to manage the Administrative & Marketing functions. In July 1998 they incorporated and have since maintained their vision and commitment to excellence. Bruce's original goal to provide the highest quality products available with unmatched service in the field of bath enclosures, has led to a solid reputation in the industry, and consistent growth through a high rate of referrals and repeat customers.

Products

We can fulfill most interior glass needs, but our specialty and main concentration is top of the line heavy glass Frameless shower enclosures. Included in this category are room partitions, water closet dividers and the like. For secondary bathrooms and smaller budgets, we offer many standard models of framed, semi-frameless and sliding enclosures. To seal these glass enclosures and ease the burden of overall maintenance of the glass, we can treat your new enclosure with Diamon-Fusion®. Our comprehensive showroom includes a wide variety of models and options to assist in your selection process and is continually being updated to include the latest innovations on the market. In addition to enclosures, we sell and install vanity and wall mirrors as well as miscellaneous glass products such as table tops and bar area glass. We stand behind our installations 100%.

Staff

Realizing that a company is only as good as its employees, we feel very lucky to have the finest. They are not only considered a company asset but extended family. We currently employ 17 in sales, estimating, administration, fabrication, installation and service. All are well trained and represent an average of 5 years experience each, with a third of them having 6-18 years experience. All are ready to assist you with your bath enclosure needs from product selection to ordering and installation.

CB Showers Inc. is a member of the Better Business Bureaus of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, the Americas Glass Association, The National Glass Association, and the Bath Enclosure Manufacturers Association. We are very proud to have earned Diamond Certification every year since 2003 for Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Trust. We are a two time winner of the BEMA Design Award ('97 & '06), and we have been featured in several Home and Design magazines both locally and nationally.
